Hibernia College is pleased to announce new courses starting in October 2008.

Postgraduate Art Therapy Training
City & Guilds level 7 equivalent to Masters Degree.
Two years full-time or three-years part-time

Foundation Course in Art Therapy
A part-time one-year training run over eleven four-day weekends (Friday to Monday inclusive)
Also available as a full-time training which includes an additional day per week (Tuesday) for 30 weeks in the year


New Course - Art & Human Consciousness
City & Guilds Level 6 - equivalent level to a degree

Hibernia College exists to provide high quality education and research in the field of art therapy and related health and educational studies based on an integrated Anthroposophic approach.

From its inception this approach to medicine and therapies has been complimentary to education, conventional medicine and therapeutic models and are not an alternative to them.

The course will include:
 

·          An introduction and exploration of the culture of learning as a mature student

·         Group orientation

·         Exploration of art media

Title: Science and the Imagination


Date:
  Friday 17 October – Monday 20 October 2008


This course will include:

·         Exploration of the senses using Goethe’s phenomenological approach and theories

·         Development of concept formation arising from outer observations

·         Working with four Elements, Four Kingdoms, and Four fold human being


Title:  Spirit, Substance and the Dawn of Consciousness

Title:  Journey into colour

This course will include

·          Exploration of Goethe’s colour theory through experiential research into the phenomenon. 

·         Exploration of the journey between light and dark to colour, in theory and through fairytale.

Title:  Landscape of the Soul

 

Date:  Friday 9 January - Monday 12 January 2009


 This course will include

·         Exploration of soul moods as inner phenomenon

·         Working with three fold model: thinking, feeling and willing

·         Exploration of human biography


Title: Soul Dynamics through Myths and Fairy Tales

Friday 6 February –Monday 9 February 2009


This course will include
·         Journey of moods portrayed in fairy tales and in relation to soul moods



 

Title: Colour as a Bridge between Self and the World

The course will include:

·         Impressionism and Expressionism as polarities

·         Exploration of a the development of human consciousness through art history

·         Colour theories

·         Colours as a bridge between self and the world

·         Exploration of different ways of working directly from the soul


 

Title: Planetary Archetypes


Date:  Friday 3 April -Monday 6 April 2009

 

The course will include:

·         Exploration of the seven planets and the seven fold process


 

Title: The Spectrum between the Violet and the Red

 

Date: Friday 1st May-Monday 4 May 2009

 

The course will include:

 

  • Exploration of the zodiac in relation to the 12-fold picture, 12-fold colour circle, and the sequence of twelve plant paintings in a calendar year


 

Title: Negotiating the Threshold

 

Date: Friday 29 May –Monday 1st June 2009

 

The course will include:

 

  • Exploration into mapping the spiritual world
  • Working with threshold experiences through drama, philosophy and art



Title: Unlocking process through Metamorphosis

 

Date: Friday 26 June- Monday 29 June 2009

 

The course will include: 

 

  • Exploration of metamorphosis as the key to all process, studying its principles in nature (plant & skeletons)
  • Working with the seven life processes
